☕ This is What Happens When You Die Without a Will!

Hi Reader 👋

You won't believe it, but all of us will die at some stage. Unfortunately none of us knows when that will happen.

When you die, we need to know what must happen to your belongings, your assets. We need to know to whom it must go, who is entitled to it, to whom you promised it.

The only way to do that is with a VALID will!

If you die without a will, we MUST follow the Intestate Succession Act. It doesn't matter who was promised something, or who feels entitled. This Act has rules and we MUST follow them.

So who inherits? Let's look at 3 quick examples!

1. The deceased ONLY had a spouse and no descendants.

As you will see, EVERYTHING goes to the surviving spouse.

2. The deceased ONLY had descendants.

Everything is split in equal portions between the descendants. If there is a predeceased descendant, his portion goes to his descendants.

3. The deceased had a spouse and descendants.

Everything is split between the spouse and the descendants. It is NOT ONLY the spouse the inherits. This becomes a major issue when the children are still younger that 18.

I hope this helps.

Let me know if we can assist you with your will, or review your will.

If you want to book an online consultation with me to discuss your matter, you can do so here:

I truly hope this information helps.

Warm regards,
